Helium orbital diagram
Hey all - first post here so I apologize in advance for any formatting weirdness. I'm trying to better visualize the way that electron orbitals interact with one another (if applicable), and I've been unable to find a clear answer elsewhere as my searches seem to only pick up stuff about orbital hybridization for molecular orbitals (as opposed to within a single atom, which is what I'm trying to figure out). Two related questions: 1. When you add an additional electron to an orbital (conside... 1540s, "of or pertaining to the eye socket;" 1839 with reference to heavenly bodies; from orbit (n.) + -al (1). Helium orbital diagram. The orbital diagram, the electron configuration and the energy diagram. All three ways are useful. The next atom is helium with 2 electrons. "pertaining to schemes," 1701, from Latin stem of scheme (n.) + -ic. Noun meaning "diagram" is first attested 1929. Related: Schematical (1670s). Hey, /r/astronomy! I recently answered a [question](https://www.reddit.com/r/askscience/comments/3esx20/how_does_pluto_sustain_any_kind_of_atmosphere/) on /r/AskScience about how Pluto can sustain an atmosphere while the Moon does not. This got me thinking that perhaps people would like to know more about atmospheres as an astronomical phenomenon in general. As such I have decided to write a post which will talk about atmospheres of stars and planets in general as well as the atmospheres in our ... # It's Hive, so I'm sure it's going to be strange. In late 18c chemists began to pay attention to the naming of their substances with words that indicate their chemical properties. Berzelius in 1811 proposed forming all element names in Modern Latin. As the names of some recently discovered metallic elements already were in Latin form (uranium, chromium, borium, etc.), the pattern of naming metallic elements in -ium or -um was maintained (in cadmium, lithium, plutonium, etc.; helium is an anomaly). https://i.imgur.com/u59BtT8.jpg - A big timeline infographic, see below for relevant links #tl;dr: We're going to the moon, and a Transtar rival, Kasma Corp, will be involved. 1670s as a technical term in perspective drawing; more generally by 1706 as "the representation of anything drawn on a plane; a drawing, sketch, or diagram of any object," from French plan "ground plot of a building, map," literally "plane surface" (mid-16c.), from Latin planum "level or flat surface," noun use of adjective planus "level, flat" (from PIE root *pele- (2) "flat; to spread"). The notion is of "a drawing on a flat surface." A doublet of plain via a later, learned French form. The meaning "scheme of action, formulated scheme for the accomplishment of some object or attainment of an end" is by 1713.
also intraorbital, 1836, from intra- "within" + orbit (n.) + -al (1).
1868, coined from Greek hēlios "sun" (from PIE root *sawel- "the sun"), because the element was detected in the solar spectrum during the eclipse of Aug. 18, 1868, by English astronomer Sir Joseph N. Lockyer (1836-1920) and English chemist Sir Edward Frankland (1825-1899). It was not actually obtained until 1895; before then it was assumed to be an alkali metal, hence the ending in -ium.

Humanity has never accepted limits. We as a species have always thrived on the impossible. We commanded fire with our primitive minds, walking the line of life and destruction. We conquered mother earth, forcing her to feed us. We reached endlessly for the impossible horizon on the ocean, never once fazed by the fact that no one ever returned. So it was only natural that we refused to acknowledge space as impossible to traverse. Our cloud cities of Venus, our domes across the green Martian valle...

My prof showed me [this slide](http://i.imgur.com/f0WkqPP.png) and he explained that the energies the bond and antibond create are opposed and therefore wouldn't be efficient for helium to be a diatomic molecule. Can someone please elaborate on this or tell me if I understood him wrong.
Got an idea from another post that described a bag of magic beans that randomly give the players (mostly useless) items from a d100 table. I gave my players a bag of 50 paintballs that when burst will magically give an item from a list. DM rolls the dice when a ball is drawn. As a bonus action (we are playing 5e) they can draw a paintball from the bag up to five times. Each time, the ball displays a new number, this way they can keep a list of what they've gotten before and try for the same item...

He repeatedly slapped the table beside his bed and sighed in contentment when he found the snooze button. Matt pulled the thin blanket over himself and shut his eyes again. He could sleep for a few more minutes. The student drifted back into a pleasant dream as he pulled the blanket close to himself again. The alarm beeped again and this time with it, ...
